My Trip to Paris

April 3, 2016

I think most girls, or at least I have dreamed about going to the Eiffel Tower, eating French croissants, and experiencing the magic of Paris. Kind of like Blair and Serena’s summer trips of shopping and excitement in Paris. Well, my trip to Paris did not look exactly like that, but it definitely lived up to the idea in my head. I don’t even know where to begin with this post because we saw and did SO much, but I guess I will just start from the beginning!

Day One

We got in the car and drove from our home in Aix-en-Provence to Paris, which took about nine hours. This was not the most fun car ride, but I could not wait to explore the city! We finally arrived in the late evening and decided to get some dinner. Our first night in the city was exciting; we saw the busy city life, had our first experience of the trip on the Metro, and got a taste of what Paris is like. After a quick pizza dinner, we found a gelato shop that shapes your gelato into a rose. The gelato looked and tasted amazing!IMG_6180

Day Two
This was our first full day in the city and we packed a lot of sightseeing into one day. We strolled through the beautiful Luxembourg Gardens, which was very peaceful and filled with runners and people enjoying a break by the fountains. Then, we toured through the Pantheon and the Musee Cluny. After eating at a delicious restaurant for lunch, we walked to Pont Neuf and saw the incredible bridge covered with locks. Then, we went to the Eiffel Tower! We could not wait to see it up close and it was even more amazing than I imagined it would be in my head. We ended the day by touring through the art exhibits in the Pompidou Centre. We went home after a long day and fell asleep instantly.

Day Three

On our last day in Paris, we walked up the many stairs to the Montmartre Sacre Coeur, which was a gorgeous view of the city. Then, we went to Trocadero and ate nutella waffles. We had a beautiful view of the Eiffel Tower and took in the culture and life around us. Next, we went to the Notre Dame and marveled at the history and architecture in the structure. After experiencing the Notre Dame, we went to the Musee de Louvre. I had been waiting for such a long time to see the Louvre and could not wait to explore the museum. I loved walking around the Louvre and taking in all the art and history around me. Then, we walked down the Champs Elysees and went in a few stores as we made our way to the Arc de Triomphe. We climbed the many flights of stairs to the top of the Arc de Triomphe and had a breath-taking 360 degree view of Paris nightlife. We could see everything from that point!

Although our trip wasn’t very long, I felt like we saw so much of Paris! I loved touring and experiencing the city of lights, which is incredibly beautiful and full of history. I hope I can go to Paris again soon!

Au revoir!
